Dacher Keltner, Ph.D.

Dacher is a professor of psychology at the University of California, Berkeley, where he founded the Greater Good Science Center. His research and work at the GGSC is broadly devoted to the scientific understanding of happiness, compassion, social bonding, and positive community behaviors.

Dacher is the co-author of two emotion psychology textbooks, as well as two best selling books: Born to Be Good and The Power Paradox. One of the top influencers in his field, he has published over 200 scientific articles and has written for the New York Times, The London Times, The Wall Street Journal, and other top-tier publications. Dacher’s research has been the inspiration for two movies: Pixar’s Inside Out and Tom Shadyac’s I Am. Dacher’s work in legislation has also been influential in ending solitary confinement in California, as well as creating a program with the Sierra Club to get veterans and inner city kids in touch with nature.
