Marla has been an Early Primary educator for 16 years and is currently a Kindergarten teacher and Division Leader at Corbett Preparatory School of IDS in Tampa, Florida. Being a mother of two, a teenager and a pre-teen, Marla’s personal practice with wellbeing has given her perspective when she has needed it the most and reaffirmed that indestructible wellbeing brings lasting benefits that begin with turning our attention inward.
Marla is one of the original authors of the Four Pillars of Wellbeing Curriculum, and she co-authored the Pre-K version of the pillars as well. She is an advocate for the implementation of emotional intelligence and wellbeing, because they provide students with a sustainable gift that guides them on this path. Marla is passionate about investigating self-awareness with her students. Using the Four Pillars, she has seen firsthand how students become less emotionally reactive, better equipped to handle stressors and triggers, and more accepting of others. Currently, she is leading the Four Pillars of Wellbeing implementation as a Rollout Representative at our National Pilot School.
