Dorji Wangchuk has a laurea degree in electronics engineering from the University of Bologna in Italy and is responsible for bringing television and FM radio services to Bhutan between 1997 and 1999. Subsequently, he made a career shift and moved to documentary filmmaking where he won three major international awards. He has also written for several books and has penned articles as a guest columnist for Bhutan Times – first private newspaper in the country. From 2009 to 2013 he served as the Communications Director and spokesperson for His Majesty the King and the Royal Family of Bhutan. He is pursuing his third career in academia and research and has coined middle path communication as a way forward for Bhutan as the country negotiates the world of social media.
