Legal
Privacy & cookies.
How we use cookies and analytics on this site, and how you change or withdraw your consent whenever you like.
Looking for the full policy?
Our full privacy policy is now published at Privacy Policy. It covers who we are, what personal data we handle, how long we keep it, and your rights over it. The rest of our legal documents are at Policies.
This page is the other half of that: the cookies and analytics this website sets, and the controls to change or withdraw your consent. It is generated from the tools the site actually loads, so it is accurate and current, and your consent choices work today. Questions: hello@contentment.org
Change your mind anytime.
We ask before setting anything that isn’t strictly necessary. Nothing is permanent. Reopen Cookie Preferences from this page whenever you want to update or withdraw consent.
What we use, and why.
A small set of tools to understand how the site is used so we can improve it. We don’t sell your data, and we don’t place ads on these pages. Every tool listed below is one that is actually running on this page. If a tool isn’t switched on, it isn’t listed.
-
Turns on only after you accept. We use it to understand traffic, not to show you ads.
-
Turns on only after you accept. Same consent as Google Analytics. It is not used to show you ads.
-
Turns on only after you accept. We use it to improve the site, not to identify you personally. Cookiebot lists some of its Microsoft cookies under Marketing; that is their classification, not ads we run.
-
Does not save anything between page loads, so it cannot follow you from one page to the next.
-
Records technical error messages only. It does not watch what you click or type, and it does not record your visit.
-
Needed so the banner can save your preference and let you change it later.
-
Runs only on newsletter and event sign-up forms. Most people never see it. It does not track you around the site or build a profile of you.
-
Your name and email are sent securely to Flodesk. You can unsubscribe from any email we send.
-
Payment details stay with Keela. We never see your card number. Keela may set its own cookies inside its checkout form.
Advertising and data sharing
We do not place ads on this site, and we do not currently run advertising that tracks you here. Google Analytics is set so the data it collects cannot be used for ads or ad personalisation.
The cookie declaration below is a live scan. Some cookies it lists under Marketing belong to tools we already use — today that is Microsoft Clarity. Cookiebot files certain Microsoft cookies that way even though we are not running ads. Accepting Marketing allows those cookies.
The Marketing choice also stays in the banner so that if we later use search ads to help people find the Foundation, measurement of that would use the same permission, rather than us adding a tracker and asking you afterwards. If that happens, this page will be updated to say so.
How we comply by region.
| Region | Regulation | How we comply |
|---|---|---|
| EU | GDPR + ePrivacy | Cookiebot CMP; no non-essential cookies before consent; GA4 Consent Mode v2 |
| UK | UK GDPR + PECR | Same as the EU. Cookiebot geo-targets EU and UK visitors |
| US (California) | CCPA / CPRA | Disclosure of analytics tools on this page; link to cookie preferences |
| Rest of world | Best practice | This page + Cookiebot preferences available sitewide |
Cookie declaration.
Generated automatically by our consent tool, which re-scans the site on a schedule. Because it runs on its own schedule rather than on every deploy, it can briefly still list something we have just removed. Where the two disagree, the list above is the current one.
